ICOLD has considered this problem and special attention was paid since 1969 when ICOLD was represented in UNESCO activities concerning Reservoir Triggered Seismicity (RTS). This question was specifically addressed during 1979 ICOLD Congress in New Delhi. In 1999 the question of Reservoir Triggered Seismicity was placed on the Agenda of ICOLD Technical Committee on Seismic  Aspects of Dam Design in order to assess the state of knowledge in this field at the present time, for guidance in this potential problem, which must be taken consideration for every large dams.
