This Bulletin contains the basic aspects of seismic instrumentation and observation of dams and outlines guidelines and criteria for the design of monitoring systems, their installation, operation and maintenance, including the processing and utilisation of the obtained records. The subject matter of the Bulletin is supported by presentation of forced vibration tests performed on dams and by representative Case Studies, given in Annex.
