ICOLD compiled a “Position Paper on Dams and the Environment” in 1995 and issued it
in 1997. This Position Paper was addressed to ICOLD members and others associated with
dams and was intended to enhance awareness of the environmental issues of dam engineering
by defining ICOLD's position on the subject.
